4. Dreametech X40 Ultra
The Dreame X40 Ultra is the most recent model of the top-of-the-line robot mop and vacuum from Dreame and offers several features that the company's less expensive models do not have. It is a powerful suction system and can mop floors with ease. It has many advanced features, including an auto-extending mop heads and self-detangling brush rollers. The X40 Ultra offers automatic cleaning of its base station and dust collector filter. The mop pads are automatically drained and cleaned with hot water. After each cleaning session, the water tank will be automatically emptied.
It has advanced options to tailor the cleaning schedule. For example you can set a specific start and stop time for each cycle, or whether it should vacuum carpets first before mopping. It can also be told to clean areas which are particularly dirty and then increase the suction power around cat litter boxes and pet food bowls. The X40 Ultra is programmable to perform specific tasks, such as cleaning a bathroom toilet or kitchen sink. It can also be set to automatically lift its front side brush when it spots wet areas and clean up debris from baseboards and corners.
The X40 Ultra has a simple user interface that offers many features. It is easy to use and set up. It is quieter than most corded vacuums. The only sounds are the occasional low hum from its motor, and the occasional moments of sucking when cleaning. Its navigation system, which uses cameras, 3D structured lights, multiple lasers and a 3D-structured light to locate and avoid obstacles, is impressive. This makes the X40 Ultra receive one of the highest scores in our tests for obstruction avoidance.
5. Eufy S1 Pro
The Eufy S1 Pro is an extremely powerful vacuum and mop combination that was designed to be easy for users. The base station, which is gunmetal-colored, is self-emptying and refills its own tank with clean water, automatically empties the dust bin into a smaller one it washes and dry its own mop pad during cleaning sessions. It also has an advanced feature set that allows it to switch between hard and rugs effectively removing pet hair and dirt from carpets, and clear raised room thresholds.
The S1 Pro's navigation and maps are outstanding, and the dToF LiDAR system in the internal unit allows it to keep a low profile while still providing top-quality object avoidance. It can drive close to walls without crashing and avoiding steps, and it also automatically raises its mop when driving over rugs and carpets with a short pile. It struggled a bit when it came across longer-pile carpets, and some long, thick mess of dried-on debris.
The S1 Pro is ready to start right from the moment you purchase it, and it requires only just a few minutes of mapping to get to know your home. Once it's done, the map is displayed in the app and rooms can be added or merged as needed. You can also set virtual boundaries as well as no-go zones or no-mop zones in case there's something you don't want the robot to get into.
The S1 Pro does a great job of cleaning up spills from hard floors, thanks to its rotating mop head that puts 2.2lbs (1kg) of downward pressure on the floor. Its ability to both mop and vacuum makes it an excellent option for homes with two types of flooring. However, its reliance on Eufy cleaning solutions (which are included in the box) could make it less versatile than other robots which allow you to use your own cleaning solutions.
